About the role

Join ‘Team Tax’: Straight-talking, collaborative, and built for people who want to make an impact from day one. This is your chance to learn fast 🚀, contribute early, and keep moving forward.

Tax is transforming. From AI and global regulations to sustainability and international growth, the decisions our clients make today have real consequences. Your work here genuinely matters. Our tax school/college leaver apprenticeship programme is your gateway to a future brimming with opportunities and new experiences.

You’ll build technical expertise, work directly with clients, and turn complex tax rules into clear, practical advice.

You won’t do it alone. In Team Tax, collaboration is key 🤝. You'll learn from experienced professionals who understand the reality of balancing client work, study, and exams. They’ll help you build confidence, ask questions, and deliver your best.

Our specialist areas include VAT/indirect tax, employer solutions, private client services, corporate tax, innovation reliefs, transfer pricing, capital allowances, and tax investigations – plenty of room to find your niche!

Please note: the only area available in this location is Innovation Relief.

The Role:

Whatever your specialism, you’ll be:

  • Working directly with clients and colleagues on both compliance and advisory.
  • Building expertise across UK and international tax, supported by a globally connected team.
  • Developing the confidence, judgement, and technical skills to become a trusted business advisor.
  • Using digital tools to work smarter and add more value for our clients. 💡

What we're looking for:

We’re looking for people who are curious 🤔, motivated, and ready to get involved. You don’t need prior tax experience – we’ll provide the training, support, and experience to build your career.

To be considered, you’ll need:

  • A minimum of 112 UCAS points across 3 A-levels (or equivalent level 3 qualification), 104 UCAS points across four Scottish Highers/Advanced Highers, or an Irish Leaving Certificate (higher level).
  • The permanent right to live and work in the UK.
  • A willingness to travel to client sites and other offices as required. ✈️

RSM does not accept General Studies, AS levels, or the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ).

Your start date will be 14 September 2027. These start dates are mandatory – the training you receive from day one is designed to give you the best possible start to your career with us.

What we can offer you:

You’ll get structured training, professional qualifications, and real client experience in a team where every voice is heard. We’ll support you to grow your technical knowledge, build commercial confidence, and shape a career that feels like your own.

  • Study towards the ATT qualification for the first two years, then towards ACA or CTA (depending on your chosen tax area).
  • Learn through a mix of client work, structured training (including paid study leave and college time), mentoring, and internal development programmes.
  • Access lifestyle, health, and wellbeing benefits, including financial wellbeing support, that you can tailor to your needs. ✨

Diversity and Inclusion at RSM:

At RSM, we’re building a strong sense of belonging, where people of all identities, backgrounds, and cultures can bring their true selves to work. Our clients are diverse, and we aim for our teams to reflect that, allowing us to genuinely understand client needs. Diverse teams bring a broader range of ideas and insights. That's why we're committed to ensuring our principles and processes support a culture that embraces difference and strengthens inclusion. 🌍
