What you'll be doing:

  • Being the friendly face and voice of ICT, handling all incoming incidents and requests with a smile. 😊
  • Keeping users in the loop, managing expectations, and making sure their tech needs are met ASAP. ⏰
  • Slinging tasks to the right ICT support groups and external partners, ensuring they hit their deadlines too. 🎯
  • Keeping our tech inventory super organized and up-to-date – from laptops to mobile phones! 📚
  • Following best practices (like ITIL and ISO 27001) to keep our systems secure and running smoothly. ✅
  • Getting hands-on with hardware installs: think laptops, mobile phones, and more! 🛠️
  • Working flexibly across different fire stations, at home, and learning the ropes to become a top-notch User Support Engineer. 🗺️

Key responsibilities

  • Assist and shadow a User Support Engineer to learn the role and provide ICT support.
  • Act as an initial point of contact for ICT incidents and requests, providing customer-focused service.
  • Carry out hardware installations, including laptops, mobile phones, alerters, and tablets.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for software, hardware, and firmware assets.
  • Adhere to operational processes and procedures, ensuring compliance with ISO 27001 and ITIL standards.
