Ready to kickstart your career in the culinary world while making a real difference for little ones? We're on the hunt for an enthusiastic Apprentice Nursery Cook to join our awesome team! You'll be working side-by-side with our experienced Nursery Cook, helping whip up delicious, healthy, and balanced meals and snacks for our amazing kids aged 0-5. 👶👧👦

What you'll be doing:

• Culinary Creations: Get hands-on with food prep and serving, ensuring every meal is packed with goodness.
• Menu Magic: Learn the ropes of menu planning, creating exciting and nutritious options that meet early years nutrition guidelines. 🌈
• Allergy Aware: Understand and strictly follow instructions regarding dietary requirements and allergies – a super important role! ✋
• Food Safety Pro: Dive into safe food prep, storage, and serving procedures. You'll be a whiz at it! 🧼
• Record Keeper: Assist with crucial tasks like food temperature checks and maintaining hygiene records. Accuracy is key! 📈
• Kitchen Champion: Help keep our kitchen sparkling clean, safe, and organised. A tidy workspace means happy cooking! ✨
• Cleaning Crew: Assist with washing up all the dishes, cutlery, and kitchen equipment. 🍽️

What we're looking for:

• A passion for food and a desire to learn!
• A keen eye for detail and the ability to follow instructions carefully.
• Great personal hygiene and a commitment to food safety.
• A team player who enjoys working with others.

The Deets:

• This is a full-time gig, at least 30 hours per week. ⏰
• You'll be heading to Leeds City College, Printworks Campus every Wednesday for your apprenticeship training until you nail those End-Point-Assessments. 📚

Key responsibilities

• Support the Nursery Cook in the preparation and provision of meals and snacks.
• Learn to plan and prepare varied and balanced menus following nutrition guidance.
• Assist with meal preparation in accordance with individual dietary requirements and allergies.
• Assist with food temperature checks and maintaining food hygiene records.
• Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and assist in maintaining a clean kitchen environment.
