About the Role:
You'll be the backbone supporting the development, operation, and continuous improvement of our enterprise platforms and infrastructure services. This role is custom-built to give you foundational skills in platform engineering, covering cloud technologies, automation magic, infrastructure as code (IaC) wizardry, and essential operational support. ✨
Mentored by senior engineers, you'll help us standardise how we deliver infrastructure, boost service reliability 📈, and supercharge our operational efficiency across the whole organisation.
Your Mission (Responsibilities):
- Platform Support & Engineering:
- Help design, build, configure, and maintain awesome customer platforms and infrastructure services. 🏗️
- Support the smooth running of cloud, virtualised, and on-premises environments.
- Contribute to platform upgrades by championing standardisation and automation.
- Automation & Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
- Help build automation scripts and tools to ditch manual tasks. 🤖
- Assist with IaC implementations for super consistent and repeatable deployments.
- Contribute to configuration management and deployment processes.
- Monitoring & Operational Reliability:
- Help keep our monitoring and alerting systems top-notch for better service visibility. 👀
- Support incident management and resolution activities (with guidance, of course!).
- Contribute to making platforms more resilient and minimising service downtime.
- Documentation & Standards:
- Help create and maintain essential technical documentation, including standard operating procedures. 📝
- Support adherence to engineering standards, governance, and best practices.
- Spot opportunities for improving our processes.
- Collaboration:
- Team up with infrastructure, security, and application teams to crush service delivery. 🤝
- Jump into team activities, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
- Connect with internal stakeholders to get their service needs and understand operational challenges.
What You Bring (Required Skills):
- A solid basic understanding of IT infrastructure, networking, or cloud computing concepts. 🧠
- A proven interest in automation, scripting, or infrastructure managed through code.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills. 🤔
- Effective communication and people skills. 🗣️
- The ability to rock it in a structured team environment.
Bonus Points (Desirable Experience):
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud. ☁️
- Exposure to scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, Bash, or C#. 🐍
- A basic grasp of DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, or version control systems (like Git).
- Experience with monitoring or logging concepts.
Entry Requirements:
- A Levels in a STEM subject, OR
- BTEC Diploma in a STEM subject, OR
- Level 3 IT Apprenticeship
Don't worry if your qualifications are a bit different! If you can show you have the foundational skills needed, you could still be considered. If you have international qualifications, we'll need an official document comparing them to UK standards.
Hours & Perks:
- Hours: 9am - 5.30pm ⏰
- Working Model: Remote-first with occasional in-person team meetups. 🏡

Key responsibilities
- Assist in the architecture, build, configuration, and maintenance of customer platforms and infrastructure services.
