About the role

🚀 Launch Your IT Career with GHS as an IT Apprentice! 🚀

Ready to dive into the world of tech? 💻 GHS is offering an incredible opportunity to kickstart your IT journey. You'll work side-by-side with seasoned pros, getting hands-on experience with real business tech. It's your chance to learn, grow, and make a real impact! ✨

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Tech Setup Squad: Build, prepare, and ensure laptops and desktops are top-notch, following our GHS processes. 🛠️
  • Software & Security Pro: Install Windows updates, approved apps, and security software to keep things running smoothly. 🔒
  • Account Ace: Create, update, and disable user accounts, emails, and access permissions with precision. ✅
  • Gear Guru: Get equipment ready for clients – think asset tracking, labelling, packing, and checking all the extras. 📦
  • Stockroom Star: Help manage incoming and outgoing goods, keep stock in check, and organize our workshop. 🛒
  • Documentation Dynamo: Keep clear and accurate records of your work – ticket notes, build sheets, time entries, you name it. ✍️
  • Support Specialist (Under Supervision): Handle password resets and other straightforward admin tasks. 🔑
  • Security Guardian: Learn to identify info safely, follow security protocols, and protect customer data. 🛡️
  • Team Player: Don't hesitate to ask for help or escalate issues beyond your current training. We've got your back! 🤗

As you gain confidence and skills, you'll level up to first-line support, Microsoft 365 admin, troubleshooting, customer interactions, monitoring, and even onsite visits. 📈

What We're Looking For in You:

  • IT Obsessed: A genuine passion for all things IT, computers, and how technology works. 💡
  • Methodical Mindset: A practical, step-by-step approach with the patience to follow instructions carefully. 🧠
  • Detail Detective: Sharp attention to detail, especially when handling equipment, accounts, and records. 🧐
  • Clear Communicator: Friendly, professional communication skills to connect with colleagues and customers. 🗣️
  • Organized & Reliable: You get things done and don't leave tasks hanging. 💪
  • Eager Learner: Open to feedback, learning from experiences, and asking questions when you're unsure. 🌱
  • Security Conscious: A responsible attitude towards cybersecurity, confidentiality, and customer data. 💯
  • Team Spirit: Ability to work collaboratively and support others, especially during busy times. 🤝
  • On-the-Go Ready (Preferred): A UK driving licence and access to a vehicle. This is great for future onsite opportunities but not essential to start. 🚗

Most Importantly: We're not expecting you to be a fully-fledged technician from day one. We're hunting for the right attitude, a commitment to care, a curious mind, and a drive to develop! ❤️

Entry Requirements:

  • 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject.
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above).
  • Please note: You should not already hold a qualification at the same or a higher level in a similar subject.
  • We may consider a mix of qualifications and experience if it demonstrates your readiness.
  • If your qualifications are from outside the UK, you'll need an official document comparing them to UK standards.

Work Perks:

  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9 am – 5 pm (30 min lunch break). ⏰
  • Pension: Company pension scheme (eligibility applies). 💰
  • Parking: Free onsite parking. 🅿️
  • Time Off: Paid holiday entitlement. 🏖️
  • Fun: Company events and a super friendly, supportive team environment. 🎉
  • Experience: Real-world exposure to diverse customers, tech, and career paths within a thriving IT services business. 🌍

Your Future:

  • An amazing 90% of QA apprentices land permanent jobs after their apprenticeship – that's 20% higher than the national average! 🌟
