Want to kickstart your IT career with a world-renowned university? ๐ King's College London's IT Department is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated apprentice to join our End User Services Desktop Team. This is your chance to gain hands-on experience, provide top-notch customer service, and support King's staff and students. No prior IT experience needed โ we provide full training! ๐ฏ
About the Role:
You'll be a vital part of our IT HUB & Desktop teams, offering tech advice and support at our onsite TechBars, IT HUB, and through support tickets. We handle a wide range of tech, including:
- ๐ป Windows & macOS laptops/desktops
- ๐ฑ Android & iOS phones/tablets
- Microsoft 365 & other cool software
- ๐ง Audio-visual equipment for classes
- ...and so much more!
You'll collaborate with colleagues, set up new devices, tackle support queries, manage inventory, and contribute to keeping our tech running smoothly.
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide tech and customer support at campus locations (rota basis) ๐
- Process and complete assigned support tickets ๐๏ธ
- Work and train across different teams ๐ค
- Develop your IT knowledge and skills ๐ง
- Act as an IT ambassador, sharing your expertise ๐ฃ๏ธ
- Help us improve our services continuously โจ
- Contribute to our IT knowledge base ๐
What You'll Need:
- Basic computer skills ๐ฑ๏ธ
- Customer service experience (even from retail or volunteering!) ๐
- Ability to juggle tasks and priorities ๐คน
- Awesome communication skills (written & verbal) โ๏ธ๐ฌ
- Ability to explain tech stuff clearly to everyone ๐งโ๐ซ
- A proactive attitude โ ready to jump in! ๐ช
- Goal-setting skills and a drive to achieve ๐ฏ
- Eagerness to learn and grow continuously ๐ฑ
Entry Requirements:
- 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade 4+ (A-C) in any subject
- GCSE Maths & English (or equivalents) at grade 3+ (D or above)
- Must not have a similar or higher qualification in a related subject already
Working Hours: 35 hours per week, 9 am โ 5 pm โฐ
