As a Support Worker, you'll be empowering adults with learning and/or physical disabilities to live their best lives, their way. This means helping with everything from personal care (washing, dressing, meals) to supporting them in pursuing their passions and daily activities. ๐ฅณ
What's Involved? ๐ค
- Delivering Amazing Care: Provide support that's safe, personal, respectful, and maintains dignity, always focusing on individual needs and preferences.
- Personal Care Champion: Assist with personal hygiene, including washing, dressing, oral care, and nail care. ๐งผ
- Medication Support: Help manage medication safely and accurately, ensuring individuals receive what they need, when they need it. ๐
- Mealtime Support: Prepare meals and assist with eating, respecting dietary requirements. ๐
- Household Help: Pitch in with cleaning, laundry, ironing, and shopping. ๐ก
- Active Lifestyle Advocate: Encourage and support individuals to enjoy a social and active life that aligns with their desires. ๐โโ๏ธ
- Companionship & Connection: Be a friendly face, helping to combat isolation. ๐ค
- Team Collaboration: Work with our Support Officers to plan and review care, ensuring we're meeting aspirations. ๐ค
- Accurate Recording: Document the care provided, feedback, and any important information for seamless teamwork. โ๏ธ
- Well-being Watcher: Report and record any concerns about an individual's well-being. ๐
- Meaningful Activities: Support individuals in engaging in activities that are enjoyable and important to them, even if they're outside your usual comfort zone. Being open to a wide range of experiences is key! ๐ญ
