What you'll be doing:

  • Being the ultimate first point of contact โ€“ answering calls and greeting everyone with a smile and professionalism! ๐Ÿ‘‹
  • Managing diaries and keeping things running smoothly. ๐Ÿ—“๏ธ
  • Showing visitors around and keeping our security system in check. ๐Ÿง
  • Keeping contact lists updated and always maintaining confidentiality. ๐Ÿคซ
  • Helping to update our nursery's social media (Tapestry & Famly) with exciting news and pics! ๐Ÿ“ธ
  • Assisting with payroll spreadsheets (don't worry, you'll get guidance!). ๐Ÿ’ฐ
  • Creating and sending out letters, newsletters, and important info. โœ‰๏ธ
  • Helping with regular reports and taking meeting minutes. ๐Ÿ“
  • Keeping our filing system top-notch and ordering office supplies. ๐Ÿ—‚๏ธ
  • Updating records and raising any concerns with the Nursery Manager. ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ
  • Handling some cash and keeping the office looking sharp and tidy. ๐Ÿ’ต
  • Working closely with the Nursery Manager and Deputy on all sorts of tasks. ๐Ÿค
  • Being the friendly face of the nursery and demonstrating excellent customer service.
  • Following instructions from the Nursery Manager (or person in charge when they're out!).
  • Partnering with parents and carers, recognising they're their child's first educators. ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ
  • Encouraging parents to get involved and be part of our nursery community. ๐Ÿฅณ
  • Being aware of child protection and following our safeguarding policies. ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ
  • Taking part in professional development and training opportunities. ๐Ÿ“š
  • Collaborating with other early years professionals and outside agencies. ๐ŸŒ

This is a busy and dynamic role supporting our amazing nursery staff.

Note: No worries if you don't have all the desired qualifications or experience yet! First Rung can help you gain the training and experience you need. Training will be one day a week at our Ponders End Centre (EN3). ๐ŸŽ“

Key responsibilities

  • Managing administrative tasks, including diary management, filing, and record keeping.
  • Serving as the first point of contact, handling telephone calls, and greeting visitors.
  • Preparing monthly payroll spreadsheets and assisting with financial administration.
  • Producing and distributing essential communications, such as letters, newsletters, and emails.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and updating nursery-specific information systems.
