What You'll Be Doing:
Get hands-on experience and become a vital part of our dental practice! Your role will involve:
- Chair-side Support: Assisting our dentists with procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow. You'll be their right-hand person! 💪
- Infection Control Ninja: Mastering the art of sterilising and preparing vital dental equipment. Hygiene is key! 🧼
- Patient Rockstar: Supporting patients throughout their visit, from greeting them with a smile to ensuring they feel comfortable and well-cared for. Your goal is an awesome patient experience! 😄
- Reception Pro: Handling calls, greeting patients, managing appointments, and taking payments. You'll be the first and last point of contact for many! 📞
- Admin Ace: Recording and managing patient records accurately and confidentially. 📝
- Stock Savvy: Keeping track of equipment and supplies, making sure we always have what we need. 📦
Your Day-to-Day Might Include:
- Answering the phone and welcoming patients at reception. 👋
- Answering patient questions and providing reassurance.
- Processing payments. 💰
- Booking appointments and managing follow-ups.
- Sterilising and preparing instruments and equipment for dental procedures.
- Accurately recording patient information.
- Ensuring patients feel supported and have a positive dental experience.
- Cleaning and maintaining dental areas, including chairs.
- Managing the inventory of dental supplies.
- Assisting dentists and the senior team with any other tasks to ensure top-notch patient care.
What You'll Need:
- To pass a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. ✅
- To be willing to receive a Hepatitis B vaccination. 💉
The Nitty-Gritty:
- Qualification: Dental Nurse (GDC 2023) Level 3 (A level) Apprenticeship Standard.
- Duration: 12 Months.
- Funding: Government-funded.
- Training Location: On-site at the dental surgery.
- Functional Skills: May be provided if required.
