What You'll Be Doing:

• Lab Wizardry: Help us express, purify, and understand proteins. 🧬 You'll master essential lab techniques like pipetting, using chromatography, and analyzing samples, all while following established protocols. Think of yourself as a lab detective, meticulously recording every finding in our digital lab notebooks (like Benchling!). ✍️
• Data Detective: Crunch and analyze experimental data with guidance. Keep everything super organized and traceable, and even share your awesome findings in team meetings! 📊
• Equipment Guru: Get hands-on with lab gear like centrifuges and FPLC systems. Keep our supplies stocked and help maintain our equipment. 🔧
• Safety First Star: Follow all safety rules and procedures like a champ. We work to high quality standards, so precision is key! 🛡️
• Team Player Extraordinaire: Collaborate with your amazing Protein Sciences team and other groups. Soak up all the training, participate in your apprenticeship, and continuously level up your skills! 🤝🧠

You're Our Ideal Candidate If You:

• Have a burning curiosity for protein science, molecular biology, or biotech. 🔥
• Understand basic biology or chemistry principles.
• Are super organized and have an eagle eye for detail. 👀
• Can follow instructions and document things accurately.

Bonus Points If You Have:

• Previous lab experience (university or work!).
• Familiarity with protein purification or molecular biology techniques.
• Experience with data analysis tools like R or Python.
• An understanding of quality systems (like ISO or GMP).

Qualifications:

• A degree or certification in a science field (Biology, Biotech, Biochemistry, etc.) OR proven experience in an industrial lab setting. 🎓

Work Vibe:

• You'll be spending about 80% of your time in the lab and 20% in the office. Get ready for some light lifting of materials too! We have specific safety protocols, and you'll be trained thoroughly for all lab activities, including independent work. 👩‍🔬👨‍🔬

Key responsibilities

• Support the expression, purification, and characterisation of recombinant proteins.
• Perform routine laboratory techniques and accurately record experimental data.
• Process and analyse experimental data under supervision.
• Operate and maintain standard laboratory equipment.
• Follow all laboratory health & safety procedures and work in accordance with internal quality systems.
