Guided by your Store Manager and our dedicated apprenticeship team, you'll get hands-on experience. As an Optical Apprentice, your responsibilities will include:
- π Greeting customers with a smile and professionalism as they walk in.
- π Understanding prescriptions and how they impact vision.
- ποΈ Helping customers find the perfect frames that match their style, comfort, and lifestyle.
- π£οΈ Clearly explaining frame features and benefits in easy-to-understand terms.
- π Measuring frames to ensure a great fit for lenses.
- π§ Making adjustments and basic repairs to spectacles for ultimate comfort.
- π‘ Knowing our lenses, tints, and coatings to recommend the best options.
- π¦ Ordering glasses and contact lenses for our customers.
- π Accurately completing all necessary paperwork and records.
- π Scheduling follow-up appointments.
- βοΈ Using tools like a focimeter to check existing prescriptions.
- βοΈ Discussing contact lens options, features, and benefits.
- π Conducting essential pre-screening tests (retinal imaging, pressure, visual field).
- π’ Informing customers about our amazing offers and products.

- π€ Tackling basic optical queries with confidence.

What youβll bring:
- β At least 16 years old.
- π Not currently in full-time education.
- π― GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above.
- π₯ Confidence, passion, and a whole lot of enthusiasm.
- π€ Strong teamwork and outstanding customer service skills.
- β° Willingness to work between 35 and 38.75 hours per week.

Key responsibilities
- Assist customers in finding eyewear that suits their needs
- Handle frame adjustments, repairs, and fittings
- Perform pre-screening eye examinations and related tests
- Complete administrative tasks and ensure correct paperwork completion
- Explain product features and benefits, including ophthalmic lenses and contact lenses

GCSE in: (English (grade Grade 4/C or above), Maths (grade Grade 4/C or above))
