About the role

Aquarius is looking for a passionate and energetic Sports Coach with a Swim Specialism to join our team! 🏊‍♀️🌊 Are you 18+ and buzzing about sports, especially swimming? Do you have a knack for inspiring kids and want to make a real difference in their lives? ✨ Then this 15-month Level 2 Community Activator Apprenticeship could be your next big move!

You'll be a vital part of boosting health and well-being for kids, families, and communities by helping us run awesome swim sessions and holiday camps. ☀️🤝 You'll learn the ropes from our awesome Aquarius staff, from planning and delivering to reviewing swim lessons and making our holiday camps epic.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Getting hands-on with the community, planning and leading cool projects and activities at our leisure centres to get more people involved in sport and swimming. 🚀
  • Helping out with extra-curricular swimming lessons for kids, supporting our school swimming curriculum, and even running adult swimming lessons. 📚
  • Being part of the excitement at swimming galas, festivals, and awesome pool inflatable fun sessions! 🥳
  • Diving into water polo and even helping with Aquatots parent and toddler sessions. 👶
  • Providing extra support in the pool for children with SEND needs to make sure everyone feels included and has a blast. 💖
  • Helping to organise community and competitive events, working with amazing partners. 🤝
  • Jumping in to support our holiday activity and HAF schemes for children. 🍫
  • Potentially covering swimming duties when needed. ⏱️
  • Starting to learn supervisory skills within the swim school, working with pool supervisors to help kids progress and stay motivated. 💪
  • Using tech to engage pupils in physical activity and sports, especially swimming. 📱
  • Contributing to our amazing Foundation ethos and working values. ✅
  • Championing high standards and being a positive role model. ⭐
  • Ensuring everyone's safety by following all Health & Safety practices. 🛡️
  • Taking on all the training and courses that come with your apprenticeship! 🎓

Key responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver a range of swimming and aquatic projects and activities.
  • Support the delivery and coordination of holiday activity and HAF schemes.
  • Provide additional in-pool support to children with SEND needs to ensure inclusivity.
  • Support the organisation of community and competitive events.
  • Supervise and support members of the public, ensuring their safety and H&S compliance.
