Role Purpose:
As an Apprentice IT Engineer, you'll be the backbone of Velociti Solutions' IT systems. You'll gain real-world experience and level up your tech skills to become a Junior IT Engineer. 💪
What You'll Be Doing:
- Helping set up and configure computer systems, networks, mobile devices, and cloud services (with a buddy watching over you! 😉).
- Managing user accounts and access in Microsoft Entra ID, guided by the senior crew.
- Assisting with the Microsoft 365 setup, learning about licenses, Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook.
- Supporting mobile device management and deployment using Microsoft Intune.
- Contributing to endpoint security checks and monitoring.
- Logging and handling support requests from the helpdesk, Teams, email, and phone using Zendesk.
- Figuring out and fixing hardware, software, and network problems for employees, and passing on the tricky ones with all the deets to the seniors.
- Keeping employees in the loop about their support tickets – no ghosting here! 👻➡️🗣️
Learning & Growing:
- Documenting tech issues, solutions, and processes – basically, building your own IT cheat sheet! 📝
- Diving into formal apprenticeship training to nail the Level 3 ICT standard.
- Getting feedback from the seniors and using it to become an IT wizard. 🧙♂️
What You'll Bring:
- A serious passion for IT and tech, plus the drive to learn and grow. 🔥
- A basic grasp of computers, networks, and troubleshooting (or a serious willingness to learn!).
- An interest in IT security and protecting data. 🛡️
- A sharp mind for problem-solving. 🧠
- The ability to explain techy stuff clearly to anyone. 🗣️
- Patience and empathy when helping out colleagues. ❤️
- An eye for detail when logging issues. 👀
- Reliability and professionalism, with a commitment to learning.

- Bonus points if you're familiar with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft 365 apps. 🌟
- Working collaboratively with the IT Operations team, other departments, and suppliers.
- Sharing your knowledge with the team through docs and chats.
Entry Requirements:
- 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject.
- GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above).
- You shouldn't already have a qualification at the same or higher level in a similar IT subject.

Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 9:00 am - 5:30 pm (37.5 hours/week).
Office-based for your probation period (4 days/week). After that, enjoy a hybrid setup with at least 2 days in the office. 🏡🏢

Key responsibilities
