Ready to kickstart your career in childcare? ๐ We're a super friendly, local nursery in Fratton, Portsmouth, on the hunt for an enthusiastic Level 3 Nursery Apprentice to become a vital part of our crew!
As a Key Worker, you'll be building amazing connections with a small group of children, documenting their amazing progress ๐, and crafting fun, engaging activities to support their emotional, social, and educational growth. We're all about creating a warm, welcoming, and stimulating environment where every child can shine! โจ
Under the guidance of our experienced team, you'll be involved in all aspects of childcare, including helping with feeding ๐ผ, nappy changes ๐งผ, and ensuring every child feels safe and cared for. You'll be a champion for their personal and emotional needs, always keeping their welfare and safeguarding at the forefront of everything you do. ๐
What you'll be doing:
- Becoming a dedicated Key Worker for a small group of children, nurturing their development.
- Observing and documenting children's progress and creating exciting learning plans. ๐จ
- Helping to create a positive, stimulating, and nurturing atmosphere.
- Providing all aspects of childcare, including personal care, with support.
- Championing the welfare and safeguarding of every child. ๐ก๏ธ
- Being clued up on our nursery's policies and procedures and making sure they're followed to the letter. ๐
- Completing your training and work to deadlines set by your Showcase Trainer. ๐

What you'll be working towards:
- NCFE/CACHE Level 3 Standard for the Early Years Educator.
- Level 2 Functional Skills in Maths and English (if needed).
- Paediatric First Aid. ๐ฉน
- End-Point Assessment (EPA).

Key responsibilities
- Act as key worker to a small group of children, recording observations and planning for them.
- Create a warm, friendly and stimulating atmosphere in which children can develop emotionally, socially and educationally.
- Provide all aspects of care for children including washing, changing and feeding.
- Assist with meeting the personal and emotional needs of individual children.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children.
