Job Title: Adult Care Worker Apprentice / Support Worker 🌟

Newbarn Ltd is on the lookout for an enthusiastic and committed individual to join our team as an Adult Care Worker Apprentice / Support Worker! 🎉 This is an awesome opportunity to gain invaluable experience in adult social care while crushing your Level 3 Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship.

You'll be working alongside seasoned Support Workers, providing person-centred support to tenants. Your mission? To help them live as independently as possible and smash their personal goals! 🚀 We support adults with a range of needs, including mental health challenges, learning disabilities, Autistic Spectrum Conditions, and substance misuse issues.

Your Main Duties Will Include:

  • Providing one-on-one and group support to tenants 🤝
  • Building positive, trusting, and professional relationships with tenants 🤗
  • Supporting tenants to achieve their personal, social, leisure, learning, and employment goals 🎯
  • Encouraging and supporting independence in everyday life 🌱
  • Helping with shopping and budgeting 💸
  • Assisting with meal prep, cooking, and healthy eating 🍎
  • Keeping their homes safe, clean, and secure 🏠
  • Accompanying tenants to GP, dental, optical, and other health appointments 🏥
  • Encouraging participation in social and community activities 🎉
  • Providing personal care where needed (with sensitivity and respect) ❤️
  • Supporting health and wellbeing 💪
  • Assisting with medication procedures (after appropriate training!) 💊
  • Following individual Support Plans, Risk Assessments, and Health Action Plans ✅
  • Helping with tenancy-related responsibilities 🔑
  • Carrying out health and safety checks within properties 🧐
  • Completing accurate records and support notes after sessions ✍️
  • Reporting incidents and other relevant documentation 📄
  • Liaising with families, carers, care managers, and other professionals 🧑‍🤝‍🧑
  • Attending staff meetings, supervision, and multi-agency meetings 🗓️
  • Adhering to safeguarding, confidentiality, health and safety, and other organisational policies 📜
  • Completing mandatory and apprenticeship training 📚
  • Continuously developing your own knowledge, skills, and professional practice throughout the apprenticeship 📈

You'll be encouraged to learn from experienced colleagues and will gradually take on more responsibility as your confidence and competence grow! ⬆️

The successful candidate will complete a Level 3 Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship through Rochdale Training Association. You'll get a mix of hands-on workplace learning and structured off-the-job training, equipping you with the knowledge, skills, and behaviours needed to excel in adult social care. Training covers awesome topics like: Person-centred care, Safeguarding, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, Communication, Health & Wellbeing, Supporting Independence, Mental Health, Learning Disabilities, Professional Boundaries, Duty of Care, Health & Safety, Medication Awareness, Supporting Individuals with Complex Needs, Record Keeping & Confidentiality, and Partnership Working. 🧠

You'll receive regular support from your apprenticeship tutor and workplace colleagues throughout the entire program. Let's grow together! 🌱
