About the role

Calling all creatives, rule-breakers, and idea-generators! 🚀 We're on the hunt for four bold individuals to join us for an 18-month paid opportunity right here in York 📍. Forget the traditional CVs and showreels; we're not interested in your qualifications or whether you've got a degree. We want to see what you've created when no one asked you to. 🎨 Think that video you edited on a borrowed laptop 💻, that passion project that only a few saw, the VR music video for your mate's band 🎸, or that wild Unreal Engine experiment you pulled off at 3 am just because you could. The film you finished, and the one you didn't – the experience of just trying. ✨

If you've been there, done that, and still believe moving images are the most electrifying medium on the planet, we want to connect with you. You'll be working shoulder-to-shoulder with seasoned artists and creatives on actual projects, with real deadlines, and real audiences. 🤩 You’ll gain hands-on experience in:

  • Visual effects & compositing 🎞️
  • CG, 3D & digital workflows 🖱️
  • Production & post-production 🎬
  • Directing & storytelling 🗣️
  • Emerging technologies & creative experimentation 💡

This isn't about fetching coffee (unless you're genuinely thirsty! ☕). You won't be invisible here. From day one, your ideas and perspective will be valued and integrated into the work. Alongside this incredible experience, you'll complete the structured learning and assessment for a Level 4 apprenticeship. Let's create something amazing. 💪

Key responsibilities

  • Work alongside professional artists and creatives on projects
  • Develop practical skills across areas including visual effects, CG, production, directing, and emerging technologies
  • Contribute ideas and perspectives to creative work
  • Adhere to project deadlines
  • Complete structured learning and assessment for the Level 4 apprenticeship
