In this role, you'll be a vital part of our close-knit, friendly crew. You'll be a dedicated 'key person' for a small group of children, crafting engaging and fun learning experiences that spark their curiosity. π§ π¨ Building strong, supportive relationships with parents and carers is also a big part of what you'll do. π€
Your mission will involve:
- Becoming the go-to person for your assigned group of children, nurturing their development and ensuring their unique needs are spotted and catered to. π
- Collaborating with parents, carers, and families to create a united front for each child's growth. π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦
- Being the eyes and ears of the nursery, flagging any concerns about children's health, well-being, or safety to the manager, all while keeping things confidential. π€«
- Designing and delivering exciting, age-appropriate learning activities and stimulating play opportunities that keep young minds active and entertained. π
- Championing child safety and understanding how to follow child protection procedures to create a secure environment. π‘οΈ
- Actively joining in team discussions, supervision sessions, and appraisal meetings to share ideas and grow together. π£οΈ
- Committing to your own professional development by attending required training and seeking out new learning opportunities. π
Essential requirements:
- Successful completion of a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. β

Key responsibilities
- Support children aged 4 months to 4 years, offering stimulating play experiences.
- Act as a key person to a small group of children, ensuring their needs are met.
- Liaise closely and build effective relationships with parents/carers and other family members.
- Advise the manager of any concerns regarding the health, well-being or safety of children.
- Actively participate in meetings and attend training courses for personal development.
