About the role
IT Modern Apprentice - Digital Services & IT 💻✨
Victim Support Scotland is looking for a motivated Modern Apprentice to join our Digital Services and IT Team! This is your chance to dive into the world of IT support and digital services, learning on the job and building valuable skills. You'll be mentored by our experienced IT Officers and Head of Digital Services/IT, tackling everyday tasks and growing your expertise.
What you'll be doing:
- Helping colleagues with basic IT issues (think password fixes and checking devices) 🛠️
- Logging and updating support tickets 📝
- Assisting with general IT admin, like keeping records up-to-date 📚
- Keeping our IT Hub content fresh and informative 🌐
- Helping manage our IT equipment list and records 📦
- Monitoring systems and flagging anything that needs attention to the IT Officers 👀
- Supporting cybersecurity checks, device upkeep, and software updates 🛡️
- Shadowing IT Officers to learn about O365, SharePoint, and cybersecurity essentials 🧠
- Helping gather data for reports and track our progress 📊
- Boosting your communication skills by chatting with staff and volunteers 🗣️
- Learning to explain tech stuff in a way everyone can understand 👍
- Assisting with ordering new IT supplies 🛒
- Helping organize project documents 📁
- Supporting system improvement ideas by gathering basic information 💡
- Organizing Service Desk documentation for smooth transitions 📂
- Building confidence interacting with colleagues, volunteers, and external partners 🤝
Your responsibilities will also include:
- Keeping all information confidential and following GDPR rules and VSS policies.
- Reporting to IT Officers for daily tasks and development.
- Your apprenticeship programme will be overseen by the Head of Digital Services and IT.

- Highers, especially English and Computing 🚀
- Previous work or volunteering experience 💯
- A basic grasp of Windows 10/11 🖥️
- Familiarity with Word and Excel 📄

- Monday to Friday, 9 am – 5 pm ⏰
