About the Role: Cyber Security Apprentice 🛡️
Ready to dive into the exciting world of cyber security? Join our Technology & Digital Services (TDS) team and get hands-on experience protecting critical systems and data. You'll work with experienced tech pros and external partners, tackling real-world security challenges, fighting emerging threats, and building awesome technical and professional skills in a dynamic and innovative environment. What You'll Be Doing:
- Keeping an eye on and responding to cyber security alerts, incidents, investigations, and vulnerability management. 🚨
- Helping with identity and access management, like reviewing user access and security controls. 🔑
- Maintaining essential cyber security docs, asset inventories, policies, standards, and audit evidence. 📝
- Assisting with risk management, supplier security checks, compliance tasks, and due diligence. ✅
- Supporting reviews of security needs, technical designs, and configurations across cloud and endpoint environments. ☁️💻
- Contributing to cyber security awareness campaigns, continuous improvement efforts, and remediation programs. 💡
What You'll Bring:

Bonus Points If You Have:
- Awareness of cyber security concepts like phishing, malware, MFA, or vulnerability management. 🎣
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 or Azure environments. ☁️
- An understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (like NIST or ISO 27001). 📜
- Entry-level certifications such as CompTIA ITF+, CompTIA Security+, or Microsoft Fundamentals. 🏆
Qualifications We're Looking For:
- An A-Level in ICT
- OR an International Baccalaureate at Level 3 in ICT
- OR a Level 3 apprenticeship in a similar subject
- OR a BTEC Extended Diploma in IT (180 credits)
Don't worry if your qualifications are a bit different! If you have a combination of qualifications and experience that show you've got the foundational knowledge, you could still be considered. If your qualifications are from outside the UK, make sure you have an official document comparing them to UK qualifications.
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 9 am to 6 pm, with an hour for lunch. 🗓️ You'll work 2 days in the office and 3 days from home. 🏡
